Q The Biblical Perspective to Entrepreneurship What is the purpose of the business plan if the audience is (a) the entrepreneur, (b) an investor, and (c) a key supplier? How might the plan be adapted for these different audiences? Or do you believe that it is better to simply have one business plan that serves all audiences? Incorporate a Biblical perspective of why it is important to understand and be hospitable to different audiences. Discuss a suggested marketing format for a web site (with information and interactive features) that would communicate to customers, suppliers, investors, and prospective employees some of the benefits and opportunities of your business enterprise.

Writing a business plan is a bit like writing a resume; it is a constant process that is run through again and again over time. It is also tailored according to the audience. The essentials of the business plan do not change, but the details can be changed depending on who will be looking at it. According to our textbook, “It should be comprehensive enough to give any potential investor a complete picture and understanding of the new venture, and it should help the entrepreneur clarify his or her thinking about the business” (Entrepreneurship). Just as you would not apply to a managerial position with a resume focused on the number of appliances you fixed during your last job at a restaurant, you should not give a copy of your business plan written for a numbers and production driven investor to a green, sustainability focused investor. Of course, it should go without saying, I do not mean that any falsehood should be implied – I simply mean that you should show each individual stakeholder where your business and their interests intersect.
